Liverpool legend John Aldridge (affectionately named "Aldo") urged today for Pool' manager Kenny Daiglish and company to sign Clint Dempsey this Summer.
"In terms of players coming in we certainly need another striker and Clint Dempsey for the price would be a good signing."
Aldo should know, the attacking Aldridge netted 63 goals in just 104 games for Liverpool (below); and Suarez and Dempsey would definitely be an exciting combination up top for the Reds, for many years to come.
In a Poll on Liverpool-Kop.Com, nearly 65 percent of fans agreed that Dempsey for 10 million pounds would be a good signing.
However, Liverpool are likely to have competition from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham for Dempsey's services this Summer.
If one were to step in Der Jurgen's shoes..
Jurgen would probably believe that Dempsey would best fit in at possibly Liverpool or Tottenham, and get the most playing time at either.
Then Arsenal..
Jurgen would possibly believe Arsenal's attacking style under Arsene Wenger fits Dempsey the best, but there's more positional competition at the Emirates Stadium.
However, Dempsey could like that challenge and the sexiness of playing for an Arsenal.
Coming in last is Chelsea.
I would be surprised if Dempsey were to end up at Chelsea, just don't see him at the Bridge with Samsung on his chest, combining with Torres.
Whatever deal does conspire, Dempsey is in the best position of any American player in transfer history right now.
